FAME AND FORTUNE FOR NOMOS GLASHÜTTE
Six times first prize, one time second prize winner: watches from NOMOS Glashütte were “almost outrageously” successful, as one commentator at the award ceremony put it, at the readers’ and public awards of the Munichtime and Viennatime trade fairs.
The elegant NOMOS watch Ahoi Datum—which is also water-resistant to 200 meters—took first place in the “sporty dynamism” category in both Germany and Austria, as well as of the public vote held during Munichtime last week for the Watch innovation of the Year 2013 (for watches up to 10000 euros in value).
In the “classic elegance” category, the equally new Orion 38 grau earned the first prize in Germany and the second in Austria. Two more first prizes in the ladies’ watch category “feminine aesthetics” were won in Austria by Tangente 33 grau, while in Germany our Tetra 27 for Doctors without Borders outshone its competitors. 100 euros for every model sold goes directly to emergency aid.
“With over 100 prizes and awards already, we are rather spoiled with prizes. But seven wins at once is still something new for us,” said Uwe Ahrendt, managing partner of NOMOS Glashütte, toasting this wonderful result with a well-deserved glass of champagne at the awards ceremony at the Vienna Museum for Applied Arts (MAK).
